ACADRE-AK-NEAHR Knowledge Translation Colloquium

February 22 to 23, 2010

McGill University
Thomson House Ballroom
[map]
3650 McTavish
Montreal, QC

From 2001 to 2006, Anisnabe Kekendazone - The Ottawa ACADRE funded over 30 trainees and grantees to conduct research in Aboriginal health areas identified by the five national Aboriginal organisations comprising the ACADRE Board. These research priorities were independently set by the Board, and the grants, scholarships and fellowships were independently reviewed and awarded by the Board in order to meet these priorities.

This knowledge translation colloquium is aimed at returning the results of these projects so as to:

  1. stimulate discussion of their implications for health, health policy and services among the peoples and communities represented by members of the Board and their organisations;
  2. allow the Board to consider how their priorities have been met; and
  3. allow the Board and all ACADRE/NEAHR members to consider future priorities still to be met

The colloquium will also offer 2 workshops. The first will afford ACADRE/NEAHR members the opportunity to form a consolidated response to chapter 9 of the proposed 2nd Edition to the TCPS on Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (see below). And the second workshop will allow participants to increase their grantsmanship skills (see below).

Participants have submitted abstracts of their work, which will be grouped thematically according to priority area (Full details will be posted shortly).
